Sew-A-Thon....

This months meeting, Saturday May 25, is the Sew-a-thon. All About Sewing and the Central Coast Modern Quilt Guild are hosting a charity day / sew-a-thon to raise money for the Keira-lee Willams Appeal.
We are expecting about 80 crazy sewing ladies so it is being held at Wyong Golf Club to accommodate us all. We can arrive at the club from 9.30am and we can stay til 9pm...phew... (insert bleary eyes here)
ALL ABOUT SEWING WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE DAY...so be sure to have all your supplies before the day.
It is $20 for your seat...
Bring along something to sew. You can bring your machine or just some hand sewing. Morning and afternoon tea are provided and the club has a nice restaurant for lunch or there are some takeaway outlets across the road.(you can't bring takeaway into the club)
We have raffles and luckydoor prizes throughout the day and lots of great company.
If you haven't already put your name down please contact Jody on 43932200, it's filling up fast. You don't have to be a guild member to attend so bring along a friend and change to buy raffle tickets.
You could win this quilt...

All proceeds are going to the Keira-lee Willams Appeal.
See you there

This year has been a bit of a slow start. Our scheduled meeting for January was a public holiday, Our February meeting saw only the die hards attend as we were in the midst of a huge storm with torrential rain and huge winds. Thanks to those ladies that braved the weather.

Our March meeting has been planned since last year. We are having PURPLE DAY to coincide with Epilepsy Australia's Purple Day to raise awareness and funds for epilepsy.
We have planned a day of purple. We ask that you come dressed in purple and bring a plate of food, possibly purple but it doesn't have to be. It will be a general sewing day with some added fun with spot raffles, a guessing competition and other fun things.

We also have our main fundraising raffle of a beautiful quilt made by the members of the guild.

(75" x 75")

Tickets to win this awesome quilt are available at All About Sewing- Charmhaven. (Australian residents only) It will be drawn May 25 2013

We hope you can join us on Sat March 23 for this fun day at All About Sewing 9am - 2pm

July Meetiing...

This month at our guild meeting we are having our Annual General Meeting. It will be first up in the morning so we can get onto more exciting things.

Members will be able to contribute to the next charity quilt. We have some donated fabric that will be cut up so we can make improvised log cabin blocks. No points to match !! We had decided at a previous meeting that we would look into donating this quilt to Epilepsy Australia. Very fitting as the donated fabrics are mostly purple (their colour)

We are looking forward to our next meeting on Sat July 28 from 9am - 2 pm

See you there...
